We display 'herd' like tendencies when we shop. We look for cues as to what others buy and affirmation that what we're buying is 'right'. Real-time information and search is becoming increasingly significant in the way we make decisions.

This application displays the items that are being purchased, live. It taps into our desire to know what others are buying, both out of curiosity and out of a need to (unconsciously) find what is right for 'us'. We produce different ways to present real time data - what is being bought. We would look to slice this by geography, gender and age bands and possibly by 'type' of product (depending what data was available). Outputs could take the form of maps, or as simple 'streams' of data, akin to tweets, that could sit on the ecomm site or be developed as a simple web and mobile app. This way you could expose 'trending' products and present back recommendations based on mining this live data (e.g. age, city etc.).
