Biography – Brian Harvey, managing director and founder of Open Ear Ltd
Age 27

I am a MA (Hons) Psychology and MSc Sound Design graduate from Edinburgh University. I founded Open Ear in 2007 after being
selected onto NESTA’s Creative Pioneers in 2006.

In my spare time I am a touring DJ with two residencies in Scotland and gigs around Europe, most recently in Norway. I am also an
aspiring music producer with various digital releases and practising sound installation artist. I was recently awarded with the Performing Rights Foundation's (PRSF) Live Connections award for innovative live performance for a collaboration with BAFTA winning film maker Ling Lee.

Open Ear is based in Glasgow,
the leading city in the UK for music (UNESCO) and has a small team of music
lovers, radio experts and developers as part of our young creative team.

At Open Ear, we call what we do ‘music design’ – we
educate, design and deliver solutions that help businesses integrate music more

We recently launched RemoteDJ, an innovative web-based
streaming system designed to give businesses the opportunity to enhance access
the best new music for minimum cost and hassle.

Open Ear has a unique licensing and partner programme set
up for record labels and individual artists. This network allows us to offer
our clients the best new music, sometimes months in advance of its release.
